CHIROPRACTIC CARE
Here For You
-
If you haven’t visited a chiropractor before, you might be missing out. Millions of people around the world have experienced the incredible benefits of chiropractic care. One of the best things about chiropractic care is that it is a drug free and surgery free path to healing naturally.
-
People have reported that chiropractic benefits help to improve; Back Pain, Headaches, Ear Infections, Neck Pain, Arthritis and Joint Pain, Scoliosis, Asthma, Blood Pressure, and surgery prevention.
-
Chiropractors pride themselves on taking a natural, drug-less approach to helping their patients reach their health goals. Essentially, the basic principle upon which the entire profession is built is that the body has the amazing, innate ability to heal itself (under the right conditions), and it is the chiropractor’s job to help create an environment to facilitate this.
-
Because the nervous system controls every cell and organ in your body, chiropractors focus their attention on the health of your spine being properly aligned and, if there are shifts, helping the spine come back into alignment.

MASSAGE THERAPY
The Art Of Healing
Is Massage Therapy for Me?
A soothing massage can help you unwind, but that’s not all. If you’ve never tried massage, learn about its possible health benefits and what to expect during a massage therapy session.
Massage is a general term for pressing, rubbing and manipulating your skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Massage therapists typically use their hands and fingers for massage, but may also use their forearms, or elbows, and massage may range from light stroking to deep pressure.
There are many different types of massage, including these common types:
-
Swedish massage. This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.
-
Deep tissue massage. This massage technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.
-
Sports massage. This is similar to Swedish massage, but it’s geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries.
-
Trigger point massage. This massage focuses on areas of tight muscle fibers that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse.
Benefits of massage
Studies on the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension. Some studies have found massage may also be helpful for:

-
Anxiety
-
Digestive disorders
-
Fibromyalgia
-
Headaches
-
Insomnia related to stress
-
Myofascial pain syndrome
-
Soft tissue strains or injuries
-
Sports injuries
-
Temporomandibular joint pain

What Should I Expect?
You don’t need any special preparation for massage. Before a massage therapy session starts, your massage therapist should ask you about any symptoms, and what you’re hoping to get out of massage. In a typical massage therapy session, you undress, but only to the point that you’re comfortable. You generally lie on a table and cover yourself with a sheet. Your massage therapist will use oil or lotion to reduce friction on your skin. If a massage therapist is pushing too hard, ask for lighter pressure. Occasionally you may have a sensitive spot in a muscle that feels like a knot. It’s likely to be uncomfortable while your massage therapist works it out. But if it becomes painful, speak up. We also like patients to speak up if the massage therapist is not applying enough pressure, communication is always good to ensure the best massage.

HARMONY & WELLBEING

Is Acupuncture Care for Me?
-
When you think of acupuncture what is the first thing you think of? I’m guessing it was needles. The truth is that the needles used in acupuncture are so small and thin that most of the time you won’t even feel them. When you do feel one it is very mild. Acupuncture is continuing to gain momentum in the world of mainstream medicine. Its benefits are endless it seems, although it is usually used for patients with pain.
What Should I Expect?
-
You will want to wear comfortable and loose clothing. This will help with access points such as hands, feet, legs, and arms. The session starts by discussing your medical history, your family medical history, symptoms and what you hope to achieve with acupuncture. This will help us decide what access point to use during your session. It only takes 5-10 minutes to put all the needles in. You will typically lay there for 30-60 minutes. Sometimes this is under a heat lamp. Most patients become so relaxed and comfortable that they fall asleep. This is OK and is actually encouraged. Most patients report feeling relaxed, rested, and comfortable even after the first visit. You will want to try it again. Most treatment plans begin with 5 sessions. This gives you a good gauge to decide if acupuncture is working for you.
